Kevin

Working-class values

Kevin was raised in a working class family with deep union roots from autoworkers to Teamsters to steelworkers. He is the grandson of immigrants from Mexico, and is a first-generation college graduate, earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Kevin began his career as an educator, teaching courses in communication and coaching the debate team at William Jewell College.

Proven public servant

His desire to advocate for Democratic values led him to Jefferson City to serve as the communications director for Progress Missouri. Kevin worked hand-in-hand with Planned Parenthood, unions, PROMO, and other progressive organizations to help defeat harmful policies in the Missouri legislature. This gives him the experience and relationships to be ready on Day One to fight for Kansas Citians.
